together with studio maix mayer, we developed the work, which is dedicated to the urban space of leipzig and its transformations after 1990.
the focus is the street lamp developed by VEB narva leuchtenbau leipzig, which is unique with its drop shape. by positioning two lamp arms, the staircase and the pedestal become an interactive play space in the area. depending on the event, a special lighting mood can be staged.
the sculpture, which can be used as a stage platform or seating, consists of 10 identical polygons, which are assembled mirror-inverted. the shape of the polygon was extracted from the 3-dimensional crystal-like structures of the fountain sculptures.
both the forms and the materials set an architectural quotation of city history of leipzig, the wagner square.
